The same applies to Debian-based distros. I've been saying this for a 
very long time, and it has made a lot of people quite upset, but it 
remains true. You pay the penalty of not being the absolute latest 
version, but the average user probably doesn't need that level of 
sophistication.

I have never tried the equivalent for Debian but perhaps it does too.
