This is the PSTricks mailing list, devoted to discussions about computational
graphics in (La)TeX using the PSTricks package from Timothy van Zandt.

Davina.Pardo> I work for a psychologist who needs information about Venn diagrams. She

You don't specify your context, which seems very general. PSTricks is a
specific software for computational graphics with the (La)TeX word processing
software. It is a very powerful program but not for occasional usage. It
require both some knowledge of TeX itself, of it own language, and of
programming and algorithmic technics. There is no real doubt that a package
for Venn diagrams can be built above PSTricks, but it doesn't currently exist,
and it is not an easy task... For one simplified case with only _two_ areas,
you can look at the first example on the page:
http://tug.org/applications/PSTricks/Various

The question of generating circles of different sizes is trivial and can be
solved by a lot of tools and graphic softwares, but to color automatically
areas, as for Venn diagrams, is completely a different and a lot more complex
task.

Searching the Web, you will found softwares for directly creating Venn
diagrams. For instance, after a quick search:

FastStats - Marketing and Analytical database (data warehouse)
http://www.raymead.com/pages/Fast.html

ABC SnapGraphics version 2.0 for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 -- a program for
creating organization charts, pyramid charts, Venn diagrams, target charts,
and a variety of other business charts.
