Subject: TeX Users Group 2001 meeting: call for papers, workshops, demos

Dear TUG member,

The TeX Users Group's 22nd annual meeting will be held on the campus of the
University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, USA, from August 12-16, 2001.
Our theme is "2001: A TeX Live Odyssey." The conference will focus on the
programs and packages available on the TeX Live CD. Bookmark the website
at http://www.tug.org/tug2001/ and watch for updates.

Clayton Hall, the conference center at the University of Delaware, offers
state-of-the-art facilities. The program committee would like to take
advantage of this opportunity by offering extensive workshops and
demonstrations, and we are looking for instructors. If you regularly use
TeX Live packages, you probably have plenty of tips to share with your
fellow TeX users. Please consider teaching a workshop at next year's
conference. Contact the program committee by submitting a one-page
abstract or outline to
  tug2001-papers@tug.org
by November 30, 2000.

Of course, everyone is interested in hearing about the latest developments
and work-in-progress. Paper topics are NOT limited to programs currently
available on the TeX Live CD. Proposals for papers are still being
accepted, and the deadline for submission has been extended to November 30.

We also welcome vendor participation in this conference. Vendors who would
like to demonstrate their software in an individual time slot should submit
a one-page description to the same email address by November 30.

The TeX Live CD is a valuable resource for the TeX community, giving users
easy access to a huge library of programs and packages developed through
the efforts of many contributors. The goal of this conference is to help
TeX users make the best possible use of these tools. Please consider
contributing your own expertise to this effort.

Thank you,
The Program Committee
