OT: documentation on \textsuperscript

Hello LaTeX users.

I have used raisebox to place \textcopyright
and \textregistered after the names of software.

\newcommand{\SASregistered}%
{SAS\raisebox{0.3\baselineskip}{\scriptsize\textregistered}\ }

While reading the latex2e-reference-manual
I discovered the \textsuperscript command

\newcommand{\SASregistered}%
{SAS\textsuperscript{\scriptsize\textregistered}\ }

notes: this command is mentioned once in

Q: where is this command documented?
