Problem with Mac Os Catalina and LaTeX

Dear Sir/Madam,
My Name is Antonio Sembiante, I’m a PhD Student in Classical Philology at the University of Naples “Federico II” and a TeXUser.
I contact you on suggestion of Italian Tex user Group (GuiTeX) to report a problem which occurs using LaTeX on MacOs after installing Catalina. Indeed, when I write on ancient Greek with the command \greco{} (with any editor: TeXStudio, TeXShop, TeXWriter…), it appears an empty space before the Greek text, as the attached minimal example shows; this problem disappears if I work on a precedent version, as e.g. Mojave (but it would be not easy now for me to return on my Mac to Mojave).
In the attached .tex file I tried, on advice of GuiTeX, to define several commands for writing on greek:
1) \newcommand{\greco}[1]{\begin{otherlanguage*}{greek}#1\end{otherlanguage*}}
2) \newcommand{\greco}[1]{\textgreek[variant=ancient]{#1}}
3)\providecommand\Greco{}\providecommand\greco{}
\renewcommand\greco[1]{\textgreek[variant=ancient]{#1}}
\renewcommand\Greco[1]{\begin{greek}[variant=ancient]#1\end{greek}}
, but unsuccessful.
I hope you could suggest to Apple an update to solve the problem.
