Oh well....appearance is what drove the creation on TeX in the first place.
It was Knuth disgusted with Addison-Wesley typesetting of his books after
the demise of the Lynotype that lead to it -- and NOT problems with the
content. Appearance is extremely important for the presentation of
mathematical texts.
