Oblique cancellation with plain TeX

the file would have worked in older or newer texlive but autopict.sty was
broken for a while.
Originally it was generated from the latex sources but as the auto-load
feature was removed (no one uses emtex on a 640K memory machine these days)
the extraction was broken and if you look at autopict.sty you will find it
just says \endinput  which doesn't really define picture mode... From
texlive 2017 on, graphics-pln contains a copy with the original code.

grab a copy of autopict.sty from https://ctan.org/pkg/autopict  and things
should work better.
