[texhax] ligatures

    (generated via dvips/ps2pdf) and that none of the ligatures appear (no
    fi, fl, ff etc), is there a way I can deal with that on my end?  

As it happens, I just received another message implying this was a
problem in Acrobat 5, maybe just on Unix.

    some way besides breaking into their office and upgrading software for
    them, is there something I can do?

Tell them to use xpdf :).

(I guess the real answer relates to the font embedding which we already
covered ...)
