note that you need pdftricks to use this technique in pdflatex, if
that was your intent.

there was in fact an example of doing a complete university seal in
metafont, presented at tug'95 by jiri zlatuska: it was fantastically
clever technique, but not something i would recommend to anyone who
wants a job done "today"...
