Dear TeX user,

Thanks for your support in 2003 and through the years!

1) CURRENT AND UPCOMING CONFERENCES:
- EuroTeX 2003: June 24-27, 2003, Brest, France.
See http://omega.enstb.org/eurotex2003.

- TUG 2003: July 20-24, 2003, Hawaii, USA.
See http://tug.org/tug2003 for information and registration.

- TUG 2004: August 30-September 1, 2004, Xanthi, Greece.
(Just after the Olympics.) See http://tug.org/tug2004.
Please consider submitting papers for TUG 2004 soon, as the organizers
have the ambitious plan of making the proceedings available at the
conference itself.

2) REGIONAL TEX CONFERENCE AND CLASS?

We'd like to solicit interest about a regional TeX conference and/or
LaTeX class in the USA.

One possibility is to schedule in conjunction with a mathematics
meeting, such as the following:

Phoenix, Arizona, Joint Mathematics Meeting (January 4-7, 2004)
    http://www.ams.org/amsmtgs/2078_intro.html

Providence, Rhode Island, MathFest (August 12-14, 2004)
    http://www.maa.org/meetings/meetings.html

Another possibility is just to hold a regional TeX conference, not
associated with a mathematics meeting. Here's one potential location:

    Princeton University, New Jersey (flexible)
(to be organized by Gerree Pecht, new TUG board member)

If you are interested in attending a TeX conference or class at any of
the above, please reply. If you are interested in actually hosting a
regional TeX event, please reply even more :).

Also, please do suggest other dates and/or areas of the country if they
would be more suitable. (The whole goal here is to collect information
about what would be the most useful ....) We will compile your
responses and report the results.

3) *NEW* TUG STORE -- OPEN! We've created a small electronic store for
TUG at: http://www.tug.org/store/
Software, back issues of TUGboat, and promotional items such as
t-shirts, mugs and TeX pins, are available. Take a look :). Merchandise
is for sale at bargain prices! TUG members get a discount.

Finally, and as always, please don't hesitate to contact us for any
reason.

Happy TeX'ing,
the TUG board (board at tug.org)
