[texhax] Alternate tabbing

Hi :)

is there a way to skip a dynamic amount of horizontal space (for example, to continue writing from the middle of the line onwards). I know that generally the tabbing or tabular environments can be used for this kind of thing, but I'm looking for tabbing functionality (setting manual stops) in non-paragraph mode.
