[tex4ht] strange error with xcolor package

Following code does not compile in htlatex


\documentclass[]{minimal}

\usepackage[usenames]{xcolor}


\begin{document}

\textcolor{gray}{Lorem ipsum.}

\end{document}


Changing gray to lightgray (or any other named color?) helps.
The error code is:
Argument of \HColor:gray has an extra }
