The description of the list is: "TeX Live development and testing." The
addressee should therefore be quite clear. Norbert is certainly one of them -
in my opinion a very authoritative one. So he has much more right than you or
I to point out the preferred language. To deny him that is a bit strange. It's
not as if the questioner was denied help. The opposite is the case. Nor is it
the case that there are no channels for TeX help in other languages. You act
as if it is not only surprising that English is the preferred language on a
channel of an international developer community, but even unseemly to point
this out. Rest assured, it's not. On the other hand, it is clumsy to take
every apparent opportunity to annoy authoritative developers with such things.

However, as it is now clear to me where your tendency in such discussions is
heading, my statement should not be understood as an invitation to continue
it, but merely as an indication that your opinion is not shared by everyone.
