I don't understand? Wayland and KDE Plasma are different layers.
KDE Plasma can run on top of Wayland and on top of X11.

Actually, I run KDE Plasma on one computer on top of X11, and on one on
top of Wayland.

And I can switch layouts (but I have only a few) without any problem.

But I am not using that xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx of ibus, but fcitx.
