It is, Enrico. Thank you, I will write an addendum to the issue, 
reporting that some scripts that rely on kpsewhich (namely, arara) are 
also affected by this behaviour. Grazie mille.

Yes, I was also puzzled because I seem to recall arara working inside TW 
in Mac OS before...

I was worried my script was the culprit. Thankfully, now I can safely 
paraphrase our esteemed friend and say "it's not my fault" (DPC). :)
