tl19 pretest: selected options in tlshell not visible

In the options menus of tlshell there are entries for papersize and
language which open a choice menu. In this choice menu it is not
visible which option is currently selected. 

(I normally don't use the shell but do updates on the command line,
I only thought I should check at least once how the GUI looks today
and so don't know what I should expect here).

I'm on windows 10.
