Hello Phil,
the reason for displaying a "wrong" package documentation is that as
of version 3.0 texdoc supports fuzzy search.  You'll still get what
you ask for if it exists.

The current texdoc maintainer, Takuto Assakura, talked about the new
features at BachoTeX 2018.  It's a pity that you haven't been there.
