Hi Werner

if you have a custom TeX-command-list you might need
to make modifications based upon what one sees in the
new default TeX-command-list,

if you did not customize TeX-command-list before,
then it should be ok

there were changes related to Preview too,
beware that AUCTeX dev repo has a preview.el.in
which becomes preview.el in distributed releases
so the git diff will not apply as is to your (presumably)
ELPA installed AUCTeX, but what can edit manually
the patch

(I am a bit vague and can't check details now)
