[tex-live] display issue with "tlmgr help" ??

tlmgr just calls the standard Perl pod2usage function, passing
-noperldoc if specified or if perldoc is known to be broken (Debian
stubs). We also play with the LESS envvar to try to reduce brokenness.
I have no way to know which part is failing on your Mac.  You could look
at the code starting around line 466 in tlmgr.pl if you want to pursue
