[tex-live] TeX Distribution Preference Pane does not recognize MacPorts TeX Live

This really belongs on the <MacOSX-TeX at email.esm.psu.edu> mailing list, since it is very specific to OS X.

But first: why both the MacTex and TeX Live installations?  And why MacTeX 2013, and not 2014?
