[tex-live] stupid thing

Hi,
Yesterday I got involved in a stupid thing on my iMac. I duplicated a tex file with texpower slides of a course I gave a couple of years ago in order to make new slides (beamer is quite complex if you have good slides) but then the program refused to deliver slides. So I downloaded texpower again. No result. Then I decided to change the location of my texmf folder and ended up with throwing away Texlive 2013, all in order to look for the solution of the texpower problem. To no avail. I also double-clicked the Mactex.pkg in order to see whether MacTex could solve the problem by a new installation. No. I also went back to my backup in order to re-implement Texlive 2013 but that didn’t work either. So, here I am at the end of the road. Can you give me a clue? Thanks,

It would be nice to lead me also to the procedure for cleaning up the Mac Tex mess by removing folders. I think that texmf and texmf alias do not belong there.

Yours sincerely,

Henk Verkuyl
