Yuk! Perl still problematic on w32 even though non-optimized
compile!

Note that it is Tk.dll, the graphical module, which fails. We never
had any luck debugging failures involving Tk.dll. Problems tended to
disappear when running under debugger control.

Probably, the text installer will work just fine. Otherwise, you can
try the wizard install if the advanced / PerlTk installer failed and
vice versa.

Just to be sure: you did nothing special to use your own Perl
installation?
