Hi Joseph,

MacTex works fine for me, no problem at all -- I just like the structure of the homebrew install and have been in the process of moving all my apps there...maybe I could make a homebrew formulae, seems simple enough, or would I have problems?

Thanks!
Ty

Is this because TexLive is installed with MacOSX and is integrated to other parts of the system? I had a similar issue with postgres, but removed it and then did a home brew install. I really like the cleanliness of the homebrew install, keeping everything in the same place. Thanks! Ty

I'm not sure what problem you are trying to avoid: MacTeX works
perfectly well for most people, or you can install 'vanilla' TeX Live if
you like. Neither depends on anything 'external', and in either case
removal should you need to is a case of removing the install directory.
