[tex-live] homebrew mactex?

That's true, but even if you only want TeX Lvie and no extras the MacTeX
installer is handy as it does the /usr/texbin business to allow easy
switching between TeX systems. I'd hope that /usr/local/texlive was a
sensible place to install TeX Live in any case: removal should you wish
to is pretty easy :-)
