[tex-live] memoir update?

those are for editor settings (AFAIK)

I'm using latex/pdflatex (I never use or test xelatex)

Interesting thing is that I have two methods of writing to the file, and 
one handles UTF8, the other does not.

I think I'll create a minimal example, and post it on ctt instead.
