[tex-live] *TeXk

Hi all,

I just did an update of TeXlive and there was also an update of pTeX.
Just to check version numbers, I startet pTeX and got (before update)

This is pTeXk, Version 3.1415926-p3.1.11 (utf8.euc) (TeX Live 2010)

Well, everything fine, and my question is only about one letter: What
does the "k" stand for? I remember some time ago pdfTeX also identified
itself as "pdfTeXk".
I am not sure if the identification is due to the build of TeXlive
maintainer, but if so: What does this "k" stand for, why is it there and
why has it been (so far I remember, might be totally wrong) in pdfTeX, too?

cheers
Arno
