(for which, thanks very much!)

there are a couple of things that i should clear up, though.

first, i tend to work on the catalogue in idle moments. i quite enjoy
the job, so it's something i do (in preference, say, to housework) while
i'm listening to music. i most definitely don't spend every available
minute on the catalogue...

second, i _enjoy_ working on the catalogue -- i go so far as to have
invented myself a task to occupy idle catalogue moments (i'm adding
metadata for auto-generating the topic index).

third, failures in tagging (such as the vntex example) will, as often as
not, result from simple ignorance. i _always_ welcome corrections (mail
to ctan at dante.de).

for the future -- jim had a grand scheme for people to work on their own
catalogue entries, and while i didn't agree with his proposals it was
obviously a good way to go. the system no longer (afaik) runs, but it
may prove a basis for a system for users to provide details for their
own catalogue entries. (if we can get hold of it ... and find a python
programmer to maintain it -- they're fairly common but i can't be doing
with the language ;-)

i would welcome further discussion of the issue.

(and what _should_ be the tags on the vntex files?)
