[tex-live] map file of ttf2pk

In miktex there exist two "ttfonts.map". 
One in ttf2tfm/base, the other in fonts/map/ttf2pk.

Curiously (at my opinion) ttf2pk uses the one in ttf2tfm/base:

[2212] 125 [ttf2pk.core]: accessing file
J:\MiKTeX2.9\ttf2tfm\base\ttfonts.map: OK

Also ttf2pk searches first for a ttf2pk.cfg, again in the folder
ttf2tfm. 

Could someone tell me how it is done in tex live? Are there two
ttfonts.map too? And  is it "normal" that ttf2tfm is searched by
ttf2pk for the map file and the cfg?
