When I ran "truss luatex -ini -jobname=luatex -progname=luatex luatex.ini"
I just go the "*" prompt, so I tried typing "luatex.ini", which just
went back to
the "*" prompt. I did look at luatex.ini -- it contained three lines with
\input ...
