I did a fresh install of tlpretest today on i386-linux, then "tlmgr
arch add sparc-solaris".
On the Solaris 10 sparc, all the luatex formats are failing:
$ uname -a
SunOS XXX 5.10 Generic_127111-03 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V490
$ cat /etc/release
Solaris 10 8/07 s10s_u4wos_12b SPARC

Note the version beta-0.60.1-2010060704 (TeX Live 2010) (rev 3685) has a
newer date but same rev number as the linux machine.
pdftex and xetex are working (e.g., enough to format story.tex).
