Was the user able to get around the problem?   I've run into similar
issues with a package we use that includes some csh scripts and
used some library that wasn't installed by default.  To use this on
knoppix we put the packages in a persistent directory and added
the install commands to the startup script.

It should be sufficient to state that TL can be installed on many
linux distributions, but that in some cases it will be necessary to
install supporting packages.

It could be useful if anyone who encounters such problems
with a particular distribution would post the particulars to
the list for the benefit of others.
