Hi. First of all this mailing list is dedicated to TeX Live
_development_ and _maintaining_ but not package (re)writing.

If you want to ask how to adapt some package to your need you should use
texhax mailing list.

I only glance at termcal documentation and couldn't say more but I think
you could get desired result not rewriting package but writing your own
macros.

For reference you could use books listed here [1] and internet resources
