In context, with the interrogatives occupying
exactly the same space and alignment as the
digits of a known time, I cannot imagine anyone
being either concerned or confused by them.
Non-aligning "--  / --" or  "NA / NA" seems
quite sub-optimal in comparison, to me at least.
