I was thinking more about the shell scripts that are part of TL,
e.g. fmtutil or mktexlsr. It would be good to have a common code
base on all platforms.
Of course. That's been desirable ever since day one. And, as I've
written before, the answer is for me to write/update the Perl versions.
Maybe next year, maybe ...
