[tex-live] Multi layered Footnotes?

Hi,

I am work on a critical edition of a work that would need multiple layers of
footnotes (say 2) which would run in each page. I would prefer to have a
seperator which can diffrentiate the two types of these footnotes.

Appreciate any inputs on this.
