Hello,

I am trying to install tex-live on a Suse Linux machine using the
command "install-tl". I am getting this output:

Installing from: http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008
<http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008>
Platform: x86_64-linux => 'x86_64 with GNU/Linux'
Distribution: net  (downloading)
Using URL: http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008
<http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008>
Directory for temporary files: /tmp
Loading
http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb
<http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb>
unusable location
http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb
<http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb>
, could not load any packages
./install-tl: Could not load TeX Live Database from
http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008
<http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008> , goodbye.

I am assuming this is because the install program is not aware of my
proxy settings. I am behind a corporate firewall. Is there any way to
give the installer the proxy settings? If not, is there a better
alternative to ordering a DVD?

Thanks,
Wes
