ah, I see.  I was talking about the iso images on ftp/...

cool, that's easy!

from usb-stick I get the "raw speed" for my T61p (with 72% cpu usage -- good;)

                332.367 5m32.367s real,         183.783 user,   54.891 sys,     71.81 cpu

where package extraction took 03:55, so it's about 1:37 for post install (creating fmt files etc).


and from DVD (3.7 GB, including both the live tree and the archive/*.tar.* files)

	        622.032 10m22.032s real,        223.938 user,   82.193 sys,     49.21 cpu

which is pretty ok, esp. compared with the 50+ minutes before;)
