Hi,
You could try using bibtex8. It is better when it comes to handling  
unicode.
Also, you might want to move this question to another mailing list  
(e.g texhax) as this list is more focused on issues directly relevant  
to the texlive distribution, not tex in general. You might get better  
help there.
