the following things came up during a first test of TL2008 on a newly
installed Windows XP Pro (in chronological order):
1. The installer seems to add 84 to the total number of collections
after each time the macro or language options are opened&closed. This
gives rather strange output (84 collections of 336) although everything
is selected for installation.
2. The TL Manager is not working (at least in this VM). I get the message:
C:\texlive\2008\bin\win32>syntax error at
tlmgrgui/tlmgrgui-real.pl line 117, near "}"
Compilation failed in require at
tlmgrgui.pl line 58.
3. There seems to be no DVI-Viewer for Windows installed or an the DVD
although there is a reference to dviout in the preferences of texdoc.
(4.) Is there some icon, that could be used to have nice looking links
to the .bat files (i.e. texdoc and tlmgr)?
