[tex-live] Problems updating TL on Cygwin?

As you remember I use my build of TL on Cygwin.

Until today I have always updated TL without big problems. As work
around to the locking problem of tlmgr I adopted this trick:

cp tlmgr tlmgr1

./tlmgr1 -location...

and this worked like a charm.

Today, it refuses to update and says something like "...you should
update bin and infra package first" and trying this it prints some
message like

no available_architectures, continuing anyway ... at
/usr/local/texlive/2008/tlp
kg/TeXLive/TLPDB.pm line 1239, <TMP> line 216619.

So I am in doubt if the update is right

(I doubt also that installing from scratch the current distribution, works)

Why, now, it says "no available_architectures" ? Usually it recognizes 
Cygwin as 'i386-cygwin'.


 From my point of view there is a regression here...
