[tex-live] TexLive Release Cycle

Hi there,

I notice we are nearing the release of TL 2008 (right?).

How do you go about this? Is there a release candidate for developers
to test etc. If there is a release candidate, will it be distributed
as the single tarball that was previously discussed discussed?

I ask because I want to start processing the new TPM replacements and
porting the new release soon.
