    Would fragmentation using jigdo help ? 

The last time someone explained jigdo to me, it seems it doesn't really
help for TL.  The explanation I got was that jigdo helps when there is a
released ISO, and then sometime later there is an updated ISO, where
most of the files inside are the same.  This doesn't really apply to
TL's more-or-less yearly release cycle.

BitTorrent seems more promising, but I have no real knowledge of it and
no way to set it up.  When I tried at one point, I ran into many of the
same issues Rainer did.

I've asked for bittorrent volunteers on TL web pages for a couple of
years now.  Some time ago, one person set it up
(http://tug.org/texlive/acquire.html), but then I got another report
recently that it wasn't working.  There's nothing I can do but hope
someone else can make it happen ...
