if you'll install the texlive debian packages (2006 or a test version
of 2007 which is already available), you'll not have this problem,
because the debian texlive packages don't include it's own texinfo.

alternatively, remove the texlive path from your root's PATH variable
(at least while running apt-get install some packages) :)
