[tex-live] TeXLive 2005 is slower than TeXLive2003

My guess would be that the installer also puts something somewhere
which fixes the "HOME directory", and that in absence of that, your
installation searched the whole disk instead.

Uh, what?  Because it works better than a manual copying of the _live_
files, it is "too simple"?
