Hmm, I cannot reporduce this on linux with the current texlive binaries.
But, I get a warning about damaged PDF file:
[~/bla] pdflatex test.tex 
This is pdfeTeXk, Version 3.141592-1.20a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.3)
