[tex-live] update in P4 repository?

    Are you recreating all the history? 

I am not planning to.  It is hard enough just to get the files checked
in.  From what I see on the web, attempting to migrate all the history
would make it even more painful.

    If not, we have to keep a read-only version of p4 for historians.

This should be no problem.  From what I gather, no license is needed for
read-only operation.

Also, all the change listings and log messages and such will continue to
be available (in Build/cdbuild/logs), which, while not a substitute for
the actual changes, are at least sometimes useful.
