[tex-live] Question about installation

Hi George,

    tex is unable to find the file mac1--even though it is in the
    directory tree which I specified in the TEXINPUTS variable.

I don't use Windows, so maybe someone else has a better answer, but here
are the two things that come to mind off the top of my head:

Alternative #1: put !! before the $ProgramFiles in texmf.cnf, as in:

Alternative #2: create an ls-R file in the pctex directory.

GUI: Start -> Programs -> TeXLive -> Maintenance -> Rebuild ls-R
or manually run the \file{mktexlsr} command.

I'm not sure if it will automatically notice that directory and build an
ls-R in it. You may have to cd to it (in a DOS shell) and run :
  mktexlsr .

Hope this helps,
