Hi Peter,
I also didn't receive my own message but I assumed this is because
tex-live list isn't sending senders their own messages.
Anyway, the original problem is that I compiled a Hebrew text using the
latest TeX Live (either latex or pdflatex) and the output differs from
that produced by older TeX Live.
The dvi, pdf, aux and log files of both "old" and "new" are uploaded here:
http://www.bibles.org.uk/bugs
The source code of the project is here:
http://www.bibles.org.uk/src/tnk.tar.gz
But to compile it you would need access to Tiqwah fonts and preprocessor
which I am not allowed to distribute. But, if it turns out that the
problems which the guys here narrowed down is in fact a different bug than
the one I discovered, I will gladly give you (or anyone else who
volunteers to help) ssh access to my box where Tiqwah is installed, so you
could debug it there. I don't think it is to do with Tiqwah but rather
with etex's different way of doing things inside \beginR\endR when
\TeXXeTstate=1. Exactly the same layout (Greek NT as opposed to Hebrew OT)
typeset with Greek (so in "left-to-right" mode) works fine with bold "old"
and "new" TeX Live.
Kind regards
Tigran
PS. Maybe TeX Live distribution should have some sort of ".version"
designation inside it's installed copy so I can give more meaningful
designations instead of "old" and "new".
