maybe a smaller tree, smaller trees run much faster

concerning 64 bit: tests here demonstrate that 64 bit runs upto 30% faster than 
32 bit

if pdftex is used: pdftex's new map file handling mechanism speeds up font 
inclusion significantly esp when huge map files are used
