hm, interesting is that context users on the mac are quite active so why leave context out ... esp since it's not that big (2 meg zipped); better make sure that redudant files are omitted (source code vs filtered source code, big font collections like cm super, binaries that are seldom of never used) 

a resonable subset of tex is not that large, esp if you take into account that for instance open office is also a quite big download.
